Communities and organizations of “Polonia” in Bialorus – recipient: United
Foundations “Związek Polaków na Białorusi” ( “Polish union in
Bialorus”) and Stowarzyszenie Społeczne Macierz Szkolna “Polesie” ( The
Society of Polish Schools in “Polesie”) in Brest. *** Education Programs 1.
Integration Language Classes The goal of
the program is to assist Polish children associated with Polish organizations
in Bialorus in the following: a/ develop an increased interest in the Polish language as an
important part of cultural, b/ increase the knowledge about the history of Poland as well as the
process of Polish integration with the European Union, c/ develop
practical language skills including the following: speaking, listening,
increased vocabulary and grammar. *** 2. “Pomost”
for Education--a joint initiative The intention of the project is to provide assistance for citizens’
initiatives in Bialorus organized around the Polish community. The framework of the program will include a series of seminars where
the participants will receive information regarding cooperation between
non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) with local communities, volunteers,
local businesses, media and local government based. An important aspect of the seminars will concentrate on conflict
resolution based on the cooperation of local communities and media. *** 3. “Pomost”
for local business – experience, exchange and cooperation The project aims to overcome cultural barriers in contacts between
Poles and Ukrainians through cooperation at the local level. The program will provide participants with
an opportunity to exchange experience and make contacts with other small and
medium sized firms. The Ukrainian partners of the program will be made up of organizations
and groups of businessmen and will include organizations of “Polonia” in
Ukraine, which have worked with the “Pomost” foundation in the past. *** |
